Last April, I went to de Young Museum’s Bouquets to Art exhibition in San Francisco, California, and what a spectacular show it was! It truly was like nothing I had ever seen before. Floral arrangements that mimic artwork at the de Yong Museum’s permanent collection?  What a novel idea and positively amazing!

I did a story after we attended the exhibition last year to give my readers an idea of what an eye-popping floral show this was A Day Trip to See Bouquets to Art 2016 at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, California. Unfortunately, by the time I wrote the article and posted the story, the exhibition had already ended. This is a flower exhibition after all. Just like our fresh flower bouquets don’t last longer than a few days, even bouquets at the exhibition don’t last longer than a week no matter how professional a florist you are 😉.

This year, I wanted to make sure I passed on the 2017 dates for the Bouquets to Art exhibition way before the actual exhibition so folks can plan their visit. This year’s floral show is from March 14, 2017 – March 19, 2017.

Each year different art pieces are chosen from the permanent collection at the de Young Museum for renowned floral artists to represent with flowers and natural objects. The pictures below will give you an idea of the types of creative floral interpretations that florists came up with at last year’s artistic display.

Last year my friend Rose and I went on a weekday, and even on a weekday the crowds were huge. People had driven from places as far away as Southern California and Oregon to see this famous exhibition.

How fortunate are we to be living right here in the Bay Area that we can attend the show within just an hour drive?  This is an exhibition that is worth seeing even if you only get to see it just once. It will leave an impression on you that will be positively memorable.
