The month of May is my favorite. It’s the beginning of summer, the garden is in full bloom, birds are chirping away, our rainy season is almost over, and Mother’s Day is coming up.
I love Mother’s Day. To me it’s a day that celebrates Moms AND celebrates women – all women. Moms, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and girlfriends. We all have Moms or a lady in our lives that we admire, and Mother’s Day celebrates all these women.
This banner I saw from a photo that my friend Rose sent from the Women’s March she attended in San Jose back in January really made an impression on me. It speaks volumes to what Moms are: Strong compassionate women who raise strong daughters and caring sons.
In honor of this very special celebration I thought I would do a countdown to Mother’s Day with a post a day until Sunday, May 14th. If you are like many folks I know, they are always looking for ideas on what to do for Mother’s Day. Be it a day excursion, making something special for brunch, lunch, or dinner, gifting a special book, planting a special herb pot, or just hanging out together with a cup of tea; whatever it may be, I’ve got a bunch of easy to implement ideas for this special day.
Go ahead and relax, check out my recipes, book recommendations, gardening ideas, and entertaining tips, and see if any of these resonate with you. I hope they will give you inspiration for something unique and memorable that you can impress your mom, wife, or that special lady in your life with 💝.
To get this series of posts started let me share with you a few posts that I already published that I think will be wonderful for Mother’s Day.

Thanks Basanthi! You are always so generous with your compliments. Wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day! You do so much for your boys and your extended “adopted” college kids, they should all be doing something for you on Mother’s Day!
