Lemon Walnut Oil Vinaigrette

Walnut oil has an earthy mild toasted sesame seed-oil type of flavor profile. Give it a try in your next vinaigrette dressing for a toasted nutty flavor.

Using walnut oil in a salad dressing vinaigrette is a new ingredient for me.  My friend Rose suggested walnut oil as an alternative to olive oil when making vinaigrette and I thought I would give it a try. I made a lemon and walnut oil vinaigrette and tossed the dressing in a green salad for the family, everyone wondered what that delicious unexpected flavor was.  It was walnut oil.
