Molasses Crinkle Cookies

Looking for a no-egg cookie recipe with the heavenly aroma of ginger and spices?  These fragrant and wonderfully spiced molasses crinkle cookies made with dark molasses and ginger are the ones to try.

The only modification I made to this easy recipe from Molasses Crinkle Cookies by Jennifer Causey on Cooking Light Magazine. is adding 1/4 cup of chopped crystalized ginger in the dough and as garnish on the cookie.

Molasses Crinkle Cookies
Molasses Crinkle Cookies by Jennifer Causey on Cooking Light Magazine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup candied ginger chopped into small pieces  (my addition) or semisweet chocolate chips

Cookie Making Photos:

  • Mix all ingredients.

  • Chill the dough.

  • Roll into cookies.

  • Dip in sugar and place on baking sheet.

  • Add candied ginger or chocolate as garnish.

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes.
