Friday Fruits. Fresh Picked Oranges

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to a relaxing and fun weekend.  It’s citrus season around here and if you live in the Bay Area and are driving around the neighborhoods you are probably seeing lots and lots of orange and lemon trees in every other front yard dripping with hundreds of oranges, tangerines and lemons.  I see so many citrus on these trees and fallen on the floor that I wish I could just pick them all up and bring them home.

I’ve mentioned our neighbor Jim before, he drops of baskets of veggies from his garden every summer, but this year we subtly asked if he could drop off some of his oranges too, if he had any extra to spare.  He graciously agreed and delivered a huge bag of oranges from his yard. Today I would like to share with you photos of vibrant colored fresh picked oranges that we received from our neighbor Jim.

The upbeat color of orange

There is something truly cheerful and uplifting in the color orange.  Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow.  Did you know that the color orange is associated with joy, sunshine, happiness, enthusiasm and stimulation among many other positive emotions.  Maybe that’s why oranges are such a welcome sight in the cold cloudy winter months 🍊🍊🍊.

Enjoy an orange a day this winter season.  With its high dose of vitamin C and fiber it’s a great way to boost immunity and get your quota of fresh fruit for the day 🍊🍊🍊.  An added bonus is how happy a bowl of oranges look on a kitchen counter.
