While Humans Pause Nature Continues to Hum. Week 5 of Shelter in Place

Good Monday to you all.  How was your Easter? I know, not the celebration you were hoping for, but I trust everyone is doing well and got to celebrate in a unique way this year.  This will be an Easter we will all remember for many years to come I’m sure. Hard to believe it’s already been a month of social distancing in our area. We are now entering week 5 of Shelter in Place here in the Bay Area. From all the statistics out there this is working in slowing the spread of the corona virus.  We have made it this far, let’s not blow it by getting out and socializing just yet, just a little more time and we will be in the clear.  So let’s stick together and continue to Shelter in Place.  We can do this!!  We are all in this together!!

Last week our weather has been gorgeous around here.  Sunny skies, warm temps, birds chirping, garden is full of buds and trees bursting with leaves.  Though I have been preoccupied with social distancing, I did notice that nature on the other hand continues to hum.

Last week I worked on my veggie patch picking sweet peas and getting my raised beds ready for summer plantings.  For a brief moment I had to stop and just breath it all in -MOTHER NATURE.  We live in a beautiful world and we are all coming together to control this pandemic.  We will get through this.  All will be okay.  With these thoughts in mind I took a couple of videos of my little veggie patch to share with you all.  Please excuse my amateur video presentation as my allergies have been acting up and I’ve had watery itchy eyes and a scratchy throat.  Nature on the other hand put on a spectacular show.  Enjoy.

My daughter Rani has also been enjoying our beautiful outdoors for her online school classes 😊.

Hope you enjoyed my little video tour.  I’ll post another one later this week of my front balcony from where I’ve been enjoying a cup of tea while sheltering in place.  I’d like to end this post with one of my all-time-favorite songs that seems so appropriate right now, Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.

What a Wonderful World  by Louis Armstrong
Lyrics

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces, of people going by
sayin’, “How do you do?”
They’re really sayin’, “I love you”…

Stay safe, be well and healthy, wash your hands often, and let’s continue to practice social distancing.
