Martha Stewart’s Tofu Fries
I’m a big fan of Martha Stewart and have been for a very long time. Years ago when Martha Stewart had her television show, I would tape all her shows and then watch them later after I came home from work. I loved her cooking recipes and gardening tips, and just her entire outlook on healthy wholesome living. I even had a subscription to her magazine Martha Stewart Living that was a great resource for seasonal recipes, seasonal gardening, homemade gifts and crafts, and local stories of interest from all parts of America. She was ahead of her time that’s for sure. Continue reading Martha Stewart’s Tofu Fries

My Signature Greek Yogurt Parfait with Chia Seeds and Fruit
You know the saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” That’s how I came up with my signature Greek yogurt dessert for a lunch I was invited to at my cousins Uma and Nando’s a while back. It was a super hot day on that Sunday and the thought of making anything in that heat was just daunting. Even stepping out to the grocery store for ingredients felt oppressive. For this lunch I was assigned to make dessert and I wanted to make something that did not involve using the oven or the stove. I had to work with what ingredients were at hand, and what I had was Greek yogurt, berries, chia seeds, and some dried fruits. Visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania
I heard this past week of the sad news that veteran actor Gene Wilder passed away at the age of 83. I’ve seen a few of his movies such as Stir Crazy, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein, all of which were great comedies, family friendly movies. But what Gene Wilder is most famous for is his role as Mr. Willie Wonka in the movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. What a classic this movie is. Based on the popular children’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, this movie is a must see for kids of all ages. A great story about greed and selfishnes and how in the end love, generosity, and kindness towards others triumphs all misfortunes is a story that resonates even in today’s fast-paced world.
