Picnic in the Vineyard at Clos LaChance Winery in Morgan Hill, California

The scene was set for a beautiful day in the vineyards.  Gorgeous weather with temperatures in the pleasant 70s, sunny with a gentle breeze, a winery with great wine, and friends who were all free to go together for a picnic in the vineyard.  This was my perfect afternoon at Clos LaChance Winery in Morgan Hill in the South Bay. June in the Garden

June has been a crazy roller coaster of weather for us here in the Bay Area. We had temperatures in the 90s and 100s and I think we even broke a few records with temps up to 105!  Then the temperatures went back down to our pleasant 70s and 80s. Basically we were all over the place weather wise in June. Despite these fluctuations in temps the garden faired really well. Continue reading June in the Garden

Father’s Day Celebration with an Indian Vegetarian Dinner

Happy Tuesday!
I hope your week started off great!

How was your weekend and Father’s Day? I hope you got to celebrate and appreciate all the Dad’s in your family.  We had a wonderful Father’s Day, at least that’s what Hitesh (Father to my three girls) conveyed to me at the end of the day on Sunday.  Hitesh got to do his chillin and relaxing during the day. I made a veggie omelette for him for brunch with savory scones and fresh fruit. After that we planted some veggie seedlings that I picked up from my friend Veena. Then he and the twins went to downtown Los Gatos to take a stroll while I stayed home to get dinner ready for our Father’s Day dinner gathering with my cousins and their families. Friday Fruits

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everybody! I just wanted to share a few pics of my freshly picked nectarines today.  That gorgeous color on these fruits – oh my!  Nature always amazes me with how beautiful she is.

I thought I could wait for the nectarines to ripen just a little more before I picked them all, but alas the squirrels and birds are already getting to them so I decided to pick them early and let them ripen indoors. It took just two days for all these nectarines to get nice and juicy.  I didn’t get a big bounty this year, what you see is it.  Also, the fruit is more on the sour side. I might make jam with them, but in the meantime I am enjoying their beauty in the basket.

Rani’s Cello Recital Request – Cauliflower Green Onion Soup

Last weekend was one of my twin’s Rani’s cello recital.  It was a rainy chilly cloudy day on this May morning when Rani had her recital, but that didn’t take away from the beautiful music played by all the student musicians which was held at a charming intimate church venue in Menlo Park.

Homemade Corsages and the Twins Junior Prom

Last Saturday was the twins Junior prom and what a day it was! Gowns were chosen, nails were done, hair styled, makeup on, jewelry worn, shoes on, only thing left was to eat, which they quickly grabbed a snack, just in time to take pictures at sun down. Hectic, crazy, exhausting though it was, the day ended up with a fun-filled evening of girls, gowns and guys all ready for a night out to celebrate being Juniors and Seniors in High School.
