Our friend Jo, who lives here in the Bay Area, has a summer home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and has been telling me for years to bring the kids and visit her. I finally decided to do it and made it out to Cape Cod this past July. What an amazing time we had. Beaches, boats, hydrangeas, and cedar cottages. This is the best way to describe this charming area of Cape Cod.
Grilled Asparagus with Lemon Seasoning Butter
When we visited my sister Banu in Philadelphia over the July 4th holiday, my brother-in-law Ranjit served us grilled asparagus one evening. I’ve had grilled asparagus many times, but truth be told I’ve liked them average at best. But these grilled asparagus were outstanding. Continue reading Grilled Asparagus with Lemon Seasoning Butter

Arugula and Mushroom Pizza with Goat Cheese
Years ago, and I mean over 10 years ago, before my cousin Nando was even married and even before I had my twins Anjali and Rani, Nando invited us to dinner at his home in Sunnyvale, California. What could Nando really make for dinner I wondered? I was skeptical. I offered to cook something and bring it to the dinner. But Nando declined the offer and said he had it all covered.
On a Saturday evening, Hitesh, Sri and I went to Nando’s for dinner. At this dinner I discovered the best and most unique homemade pizza I had ever tasted. This pizza was delicious and so original at that time. Continue reading Arugula and Mushroom Pizza with Goat Cheese

Van’s Gorgeous Garden Abode
I did it again. I made a new friend because of our mutual love of gardening. I met Van at my friend Rose’s house a few times a while back, but not until Van found out from Rose what a big gardener I am did we connect and reach out to each other.
Through Rose, Van invited me to come and see her garden and give her advice on an area that she was looking at re-doing a couple of years ago. I had no idea what to expect, I was of course honored and excited to be giving some gardening tips. I happily agreed, and Rose and I went together to Van’s home for tea one day.
What a wonderful surprise I was in for. Continue reading Van’s Gorgeous Garden Abode

Martha Stewart’s Tofu Fries
I’m a big fan of Martha Stewart and have been for a very long time. Years ago when Martha Stewart had her television show, I would tape all her shows and then watch them later after I came home from work. I loved her cooking recipes and gardening tips, and just her entire outlook on healthy wholesome living. I even had a subscription to her magazine Martha Stewart Living that was a great resource for seasonal recipes, seasonal gardening, homemade gifts and crafts, and local stories of interest from all parts of America. She was ahead of her time that’s for sure. Continue reading Martha Stewart’s Tofu Fries
