June in the Garden

Summer finally arrived in our area in June 🌞 with temperatures warming up into the 70s, 80 and for a few days even in the 90s.  In the garden the heat brought into bloom all types of lillies – Asiatic lillies, daylillies, calla lillies, and oriental lillies.

The first flush of rose blooms are over as are nasturtiums which have already set seed and which I pruned down and collected the seeds. Dahlia tubers started leafing out and our veggie plants are getting nice and bushy too. The heat is bringing into bloom so many perennials and plants such as lavenders, fuchsias, carnations, geraniums, and succulents too. Here is a look at my June garden.

Veggies and dahlias getting bushy by the day.

Mint

Can I just say that I love mint! I love the fresh green color and always perky personality of this herb 🌿.  This little guy was a runner and I plucked him up and plopped him in a little pot. I couldnt get over how pretty he looks!

Succulents are blooming too.

Geraniums pumping out nonstop blooms

Don’t you love this dreamy salmon colored geranium? I made a few cuttings in case a friend wanted this gem.

Sweet smelling carnations blooming away

Salvias in shades of indigo, white and red, just gorgeous.

Palergomiums

What did I do to deserve such beauty?  These palergoniums are blooming nonstop, and I mean nonstop!!!

Fuchsias

Made a few bouquets with my June garden flowers

Hope you had a happy June.
Wishing you a joyous July!
