Winter Farmer’s Market Bounty

I was so excited to finally stop by the farmer’s market last weekend after a 2-month hiatus. Here are are some pics of my fun market trip.

Oh how I love going to the farmer’s market!

My usual farmer’s market that I like to go to took a break over the holidays and just reopened a couple weeks ago in January. But with the off and on rain we have had I didn’t get a chance to stop by until last weekend when it was a sunny 65 degrees!

When I see all that color and fresh produce my senses just get super happy. If I had 4 hands I would buy 8 bags of veggies and fruits, that’s how much I love going to the farmer’s market.

On this pleasant January winter morning our farmer’s market wasn’t as bustling as it usually is yet still there were enough stalls with fresh fruits and veggies to make anyone happy.

Here is a look at what colorful produce our local farm stands were selling on this January winter morning.

Swiss Chard, Kale, Carrots, Turnips, Daikon, Green Onions and More

Can you believe glorious tomatoes in the winter?

Cauliflower, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Leeks, & Cucumbers

Here is a cool idea for a snack or an appetizer. Just chop up some Persian cucumbers and sprinkle with Mexican spice blend like Tajin Classic Seasoning

Golden Beets, Red Beets & Pink Beets

Fresh Picked Mushrooms

Romanesco. I wanted to buy these so badly to try them out but my hands were already full 😌

I promise this adorable little boy was not photoshoped into my photo! I just noticed him in the picture after I came home 🤗

Lots of oranges and a few apples and grapes were the fruits in season this winter morning

Honey Stall Too

Notice the different colored of honeys?

The honey-stand cashier said the darkest honey is from buckwheat flowers, the amber-colored honey is from sage flowers, and the one on the far end is local honey from wildflowers found right here in our Los Gatos hills.

Supposedly the buckwheat honey is good for coughs, sage honey is good for the lungs, and the local wildflower honey is good for allergies.

Flower Stall and Musicians Too
