Dinner with Santa and a Game of Charades 2018

We were invited to our friend’s Basanthi and Vivek’s annual holiday party this past weekend for a fun evening of laughter, delicious food, and a visit from Santa Claus 🎅🎄.  This party is unique in that Santa Claus always makes an appearance at Basanthi’s pre-Christmas party and hands out presents to all kids AND adults. This is a joyous evening to celebrate the holidays with little kids, big kids and Santa Claus!

This year Basanthi asked me how she could make handing out presents more fun, rather than the usual sitting on Santa’s lap and taking a picture. After racking my brains my suggestion was a game of charades. I hoped this would bring laughter and fun to the event and hoped for the best 😳. I was able to find a little box of charade cards to play with and this became our after-dinner Santa’s charades party 😀.  We started the game with the first person acting out the first words to a movie (Top Gun), and whoever guessed it first got a present from Santa. Then they came up and acted out another movie/TV show or book. And this went on until the last of the people guessed the right answer until all the presents were handed out.

Boy did this turn into a loud, boisterous game! These kids sure know their movies and TV shows! They were guessing every one quickly and fast! We adults need to watch more TV and more movies 🎥📽 😀.

This evening was all about the joy of giving, and the pure joy that my friend Basanthi gets from handing out a little something to everyone she loves. Wondering what’s inside the gift bags for the girls? A pair of fuzzy sox, hat and gloves. Simple joy of giving for a fun night of cheer.

Here is a look at this festive holiday party with Santa Claus and the game of charades.

Time for dinner 😋. A delicious meal prepared by all the ladies was a feast to be enjoyed.

Ready for Santa and charades!

Adults are finally guessing a few movies!

More adults join in the game.

Charades continues with the last of the adults left to guess a few.

Thank you Basanthi and Vivek (i.e. Santa Claus)  for hosting an awesome fun filled holiday party to remember. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
