Hello and happy Friday! How was your week? Good? Ready for the weekend? Today I’d like to share pics from our brief visit to see family in Mombasa, Kenya. This time we had our younger daughter Rani join us for a relaxing time with the family in the laid back coastal town of Mombasa. Here are a few pics from our recent February visit.
Beautiful beaches and warm waters
The beaches in Mombasa are gorgeous! White fine sandy beaches bordered by coconut trees, with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Absolutely perfect.
Day passes at beachside hotels offer folks the opportunity to hang out at the beach with all the amenities of a resort.
English Point waterfront. Facing old town Mombasa this is a wonderful place to grab dinner or coffee.
Roasted kasava and fresh coconut water at the lighthouse waterfront promenade
At this waterfront promenade vendors sell fresh coconut water, roasted kasava and freshly fried chips drizzled with lime and chili powder. A place to grab a quick bite and look yonder at the Indian ocean.
Visit to the local farmer’s market
The basket lady
I bought baskets from this vendor last time I visited with my eldest daughter Sri a couple years ago, and the basket lady remembered! She even recalled exactly what baskets I bought last time 😄!
Family, beaches, delicious food, a relaxing time 😍
Happy March!
Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
