Warm Winter Wedding in Bangalore, India

For someone who loves flowers, these photos that my daughter Sri sent from a wedding she attended in India last week in January were the perfect antidote on a dreary winter rainy week.

When it’s cold and dreary outside, I so crave flowers and color. Many times to satisfy my flower craving I peruse through my weathered collection of gardening books to escape into summer gardens far and wide. Since I love flowers so much I read and re-read through my collection dedicated to just flowers with beautiful pictures of flowers, indoor plants, branches, seedpods, and greenery.   On a cold winter day, these pics from India were eye-candy and was just like perusing through my gardening books 💐.

Indian weddings are a sensory overload – color, color, color; flowers, flowers, flowers; food, food, food; people, people, people; and party, party, party.

An Indian wedding is a family affair – it’s a chance for relatives and friends from all over the world to come and attend an event where they can see each other and catch up in a gorgeous setting with delicious food, great venue, and great company. This sums up most Indian weddings.

So what does a young Indian couple born and raised in California do when they want a January wedding with all the Indian wedding trimmings and trappings? It’s hard to have an abundance of lush flowers at a wedding in January in wintery Northern California without breaking the bank account. When one wants to get married in January with all the jazz of a typical Indian event, what does a young couple do? Have the wedding in India. Call it a destination wedding and pick a city that is well known for mild pleasant temperatures all year round with gorgeous vegetation – Bangalore. When Sri was invited to her friend’s wedding in Bangalore I encouraged her to go. Who knows when the next invitation will arrive for a lavish Indian wedding in India?

Sri just came back from her friend’s three- day, five-event Indian destination wedding and shared with me the most amazing photos of this stupendous extravaganza in Bangalore, India. The photos of this very special wedding are just out of this world gorgeous with flowers, flowers, flowers and plenty of color to satisfy anyone’s color craving.

If you are craving flowers and color in the cold winter January like I am – these photos of a warm winter wedding in Bangalore, India are sure to put a smile on your face. Enjoy!
