About the recipe

This recipe is as authentic as it gets! It’s shared by my friend Pallavi who made it for a dinner she had hosted. Pallavi is from the Northern Indian state of UP and this is one of their regional dishes. Sweet peas in a spicy tomato gravy with chunks of fresh paneer – how delicious does that sound? I asked her for the recipe and she graciously shared. Here it is!

Cook’s Notes:  Once you get this recipe down, you can add carrots, potatoes, green beans, and zucchini in addition to the peas.  Serve mattar paneer with a side of rice, quinoa, chapatis or naan.
