Pink Elephant Gift Exchange with Friends

Good friends exchanging presents? What’s not to like with this stupendous holiday soiree??  Absolutely nothing! A holiday party like no other – a Pink Elephant Gift Exchange Party is what I attended a couple days ago and what an amazing time I had.

Getting together with friends whom I haven’t seen in months is always a blast, but getting together over delicious food and exchanging presents? Seriously – women and presents, what’s more to add? We like presents, in all shapes and sizes, big or small; we love to open a nicely wrapped something, making this soiree a fun party for all the ladies.

You may have heard of a white elephant gift exchange where folks exchange presents that are white elephants (i.e. presents no one really wants).  But this pink elephant gift exchange takes that same concept and makes it where we exchange presents that folks actually want! In fact, in this game we get to steal the present that we like from each other!

Here’s how the pink elephant gift exchange works.

All the ladies bring an anonymously wrapped present.

When the game starts, the leader hands out tickets with numbers (there are as many numbers as there are ladies).

Then in order from number 1 to say 15, the ladies get to pick a present to open. But here is the catch! If number 2 likes number 1’s present, she can steal it instead of opening a new present.  Then number 1 gets to pick a present again (she cannot steal her present back).  Next, number 3 gets to choose a present to open OR she can choose to steal either of number 1 or number 2’s present. This goes on in order until the last person has opened a present. However no one person can have their presents stolen more than twice (the third time you pick, you get to keep that present).  Similarly no one present can be stolen from each other more then twice. What this means is that the coveted present gets to stay with the third person who stole it. I know, it sounds complicated but it’s lots and lots of fun! And it helps too to have a leader who keeps us all in check like our friend Joji did for our game 😊.

Here is a look at this fun, festive, friendly competition involving presents!

We haven’t seen each other in a while and there are lots of hugs, laughs, and smiles to go around.

Time for lunch! Oh my gosh, the selection of food at this lunch was amazing!  Everything was colorful, beautiful and delectable 😋.  A positive feast for the eyes and stomach! I have a few recipes to collect!

This amazing spread of salads, quiches, soup, and appetizers was just scrumptious 😋. With so many deliciously healthy options to choose from, we didn’t feel guilty indulging on dessert 😀🍰.
