One of my twins Rani takes cello lessons and she informed me a few weeks ago that she is ready for an adult or rather a big cello instrument. “What’s wrong with the one you have? I asked her. It looked pretty big to me already.
And Rani in her ultimate wisdom informs me, “Mom, I am 15 now, not a little kid anymore, the one I have is from Middle School, I’m in High School now and it’s time for me to get a big cello.” This was my reaction đ˘đ˘. My little twins were growing up.
What is it about art and nature that go hand in hand? Nature in its endless character inspires all artists. What better place to have an art show for my daughter than in the garden? The perfect backdrop to showcase my eldest daughter Sridevi’s art.

I have been buying Kazuri bead jewelry for over two decades now, and even today, when I wear those bracelets I get compliments on them. They are timeless pieces. Those who know me well know how much I love hand-made pottery of all kinds from all parts of the world, and most of all from right here in California. Â Which brings me to how I got to visit potter Bob Pool in Berkeley, CA.
Bouquets to Art.  What a novel idea!  Flower bouquets that mimic paintings and works of art in the permanent collection at the de Young Museum in San Francisco.  Every year I plan on going to this talked about exhibition, but something always takes precedent, and I end up not making it.  But this year I put it on my calendar 2 months in advance so as not to miss it, and I finally made it! Flowers, flowers, flowers!! Anyone who knows me knows I love flowers! I absolutely love them. So when I read about an exhibition in San Francisco of Oscar de la Renta’s floral couture gowns, I had to go! All I saw in this little article about the exhibit was the word “floral”, and it got me hooked.  Continue reading Floral Gowns by Oscar de la Renta→
