With all the warm weather we had in February my garden is quickly waking up from its winter dormancy. Flowers blooming range from daffodils to freesias to pink tea trees and blue flowered rosemary bushes. Here are a few pics of my February garden.

I love, love, love freesias! I buy more bulbs every year so I can have hundreds of blooms in early spring and these bulbs reward me with sweet smelling freesias every year!
Made a few freesia bouquets for friends “just because” and a few for me too. 😊
A few close up shots of these stunning freesias! No color enhancements, no filters, no photoshop, just pure over the top natural color. AMAZING!!!

Veggie patch pics. Not much happening by way of veggies but what little I planted seem to be hanging in there. Have a few cauliflowers, cabbage, Swiss chard and kale.
Nasturtium seedlings sprouting everywhere. Can’t wait for their spring show!

I wanted to take just a little bit of time this morning to reach out to you to let you know that it has been a pleasure having Anjali in my history class this year! She changed classes at the end of semester 1 but that didn’t impact her ability to work or make her place in first period and made her shine! She has such a kind heart, she gets along so well with her classmates, and she is truly an important part of our period 1 community in the same way that she was an important part of 4th period. She is always willing to extend a helping hand to her classmates and that is truly a sign of great character. She has such a fun spirit but she is also a very thoughtful young lady when it comes to her behavior.
She warmed my heart when she came into class with a beautiful basket of flowers a couple weeks ago only to find out that some were for me! Thank you for encouraging Anjali and for helping her to become the lovely person that she is!

Yes! They are absolutely wonderful. They made me think of my friend Rebecca’s beautiful garden. She has a two acres backyard, with the most wonderful arrangements. She’s been gardening for so many years that she knows what flowers bloom, when. She planted everything with that knowledge, and it doesn’t matter what time of the year you visit her, there’s always something blooming. It’s my one go to place for gardening inspiration. She always have something new to show me. Enjoy this beautiful weekend 🙂

My freesias are not even beginning to bloom yet. We have a mix at work. At home, I have only white and a few red. The red ones were not planned, but I like them now that they are here. I used to grow them as cut flower back in about 1988 in Pescadero.
A few of my friens said the same thing, their freesias are still in tight bud. I’m not sure why my freesias have been blooming for the last month, it could be the location. I like to grow my freesias more for cut flowers too. the freesia color these days come in a rainbow of shades and a much bigger than my earliers flowers too.
There were some feral freesias near some that had been planted behind Wells Fargo years ago. They were not as pretty or as colorful as those that were planted, with smaller yellowish white flowers; but they were even more fragrant! They were almost too fragrant!
After sowing the seed or planting the sapling, it is symbolic of the virtue of patience to wait for the blooming of the flowers at the proper time etc and bearing fruits either way! Please give your thoughts.
Very true! Gardening is definitely a test of one’s patience. Gardening is the perfect metaphor of life, ups and downs of plants not doing well, disapointments of seeds not sprouting, excitement and joy of success of fruits ripening, and yet the ever lasting optimism of getting up and trying again.
