Our 14 Day Visit to India. Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai.

Hello! Happy new week!  How was your weekend? Good? I hope you are energized and ready for the new week ahead.  All this week I will be sharing with you our amazing trip to India that we went on earlier this year.

Five cities, fourteen days, a fun filled trip to India

We had a wonderful start to the new year as we took our twins Anjali and Rani to India for the first time. 4 days in Delhi. 1 day in Agra. 3 days in Jaipur. 3 days in Udaipur. 3 days in Mumbai

New Delhi. The capital city of India

We started our Indian holiday in the capital city of New Delhi. Here we visited historic sites such as Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutub Minar, walked around local street bazaars and had the most delicious vegetarian cuisine. The weather was amazing in the 60s and 70s, perfect for a few fun filled days in Delhi, India.

Agra. The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort

On day three of our stay we made a day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Jaipur. The Pink City

From Delhi we flew to Jaipur which is also called the Pink City where most of the buildings are painted pink. What a truly beautiful city this is. Here we walked the ever popular bazaars of Jaipur, visited artisanal studios where artisans were creating hand block printed fabrics, carpets and bangles. We saw the Hava Mahal (the wind palace), and visited a fort and even rode on an elephant up to the fort!

Udaipur. The City of Lakes

From Jaipur we flew to Udaipur which is known as the city of lakes and also called the Venice of India. In Udaipur we took a boat ride to the beautiful Lake Palace for dinner, visited the crown jewel of the city – the City Palace, explored the street markets, and checked out the most unique boutique I had ever seen called Ganesh Emporium. We even stopped by local perfume shops and made our own blend of all natural perfumes!

Mumbai. The financial capital of India

From Udaipur we flew to Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Our most memorable experience was our day trip to the Elephanta Caves a 2-hour boat ride off the coast of Mumbai. Here we saw sculptures carved into the caves dating back to the 16th century.

All this week I will share more details of our amazing adventure in India. If you’re wondering when is the best time to travel to India, it is between November and January when the temperatures are pleasant. By February India starts getting very hot making it difficult to enjoy all the beautiful excursions that the country has to offer.

Have a fabulous week everyone 🌺.
