For the Love of Greeting Cards

I am a big fan of cards.  Not e-cards. I’m talking about greeting cards – you know, the old fashioned kind made of paper, the kind that Hallmark makes, and those cards you find in bookstores and stationary stores.  I love greeting cards. I think they are the best way to let people know how you feel and what you are thinking. Greeting cards are so personal.  You can keep them in your memory box or shoebox for years to come. Can you do that with an e-card? I bet you can’t even find those e-cards from years ago. Continue reading For the Love of Greeting Cards

Bunny Rabbits: Not As Cute As You Think.

It’s early spring and all the plants are leafing out with fresh, tender new leaves.  The garden is looking green, healthy, and plump with lush juicy flower buds all ready to bloom in a matter of weeks.  I’m ready for the spring flower show!

Georgina’s Maltese Easter Figolli

Bay Area is a great place to live.  A melting pot of various cultures, languages, and religions.  Where else could I have such a wonderful group of friends from places like Ghana, Philippines, Japan, China, Ireland, Vietnam, England,  Iran, Fiji,  Russia, Kenya, all corners of India, Eastern Europe, and Malta.  Which brings me to the topic of this post; Georgina’s Maltese Easter figolli.

Philz Coffee

A new coffee shop called Philz Coffee opened here in Los Gatos.  It was an instant over night success. I hadn’t heard of it myself but apparently a lot of people already knew about this coffee chain from their other locations in the Bay Area. What’s so special about Philz Coffee?  This is not your run of the mill coffee joint, no; this is a specialty coffee shop that doesn’t sell any espresso drinks, none. No lattes, cappuccinos, no latte macchiato, café Americano, no espresso drinks of any kind.   Continue reading Philz Coffee

Visit to Dallas, Texas. Twins Meeting Twins

Remember that television show Dallas in the 80s? We were all hooked on that family soap opera, heck the whole country, even the world was hooked on it!  The story of a wealthy oil family in Dallas and all their family drama with adultery, betrayal, bastard sons, and the one rival they are always fighting against. It had beautiful actors and actresses with great outfits and grand Texas scenery, it had everything a great soap opera needs to be successful. Remember that episode Who Shot JR? The whole country eagerly waited to watch that episode, which at that time became the all time most watched television episode ever! But wait, I digress.  That’s not what this post is about. I wanted to tell you about my recent visit to Dallas, the city in Texas – not the show Dallas. Continue reading Visit to Dallas, Texas.
