How was your weekend? I hope it was relaxing and you are ready for the week ahead. Our Saturday was packed trying to get our weekend projects done with errands and running around. On Sunday however we had a lovely afternoon with our Bay Area cousins to celebrate the Indian harvest festival of Shankranthi.

We attended the last of our holiday parties for the year on Sunday, before we head out for some quality time with just the five of us for a family holiday together. We went over to our friend Basanthi’s annual Christmas Party with Santa on Sunday. Yes, this party actually has a visit from Santa! He not only gives presents to all the little kids but the adults get to take a photo with him too! It’s a fun holiday party with friends, family, lots of delicious food and presents. I spent most of my time planting up spring bulbs and I also worked on dividing a few of my daylillies and bearded iris in the garden. Speaking of gardening, my Aunty Shashi visited me from South Carolina last week and spent three wonderful days with my family.
