Every time we travel to Kenya to visit Hitesh’s family, I would stop by the Kazuri boutique in Nairobi and pick up a bracelet. I have been buying Kazuri bead jewelry for over two decades now, and even today, when I wear those bracelets I get compliments on them. They are timeless pieces. Antique shopping in Philadelphia and the surrounding neighborhoods is truly a unique East Coast experience. There are even towns whose claim to fame is that their entire town is dedicated to just antique shopping. David Bruce Winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Why drive all the way to Napa, when you can drive fifteen minutes up into the Santa Cruz Mountains and find some great wineries right here in the South Bay? On a whim one Saturday afternoon, Hitesh and I decided to go wine tasting and made a quick trip to David Bruce Winery. David Bruce is a small winery that specializes in a hand full of wines – mostly Pinot Noir, some Chardonnay, and Sangiovese. For the Love of Greeting Cards
I am a big fan of cards. Not e-cards. I’m talking about greeting cards – you know, the old fashioned kind made of paper, the kind that Hallmark makes, and those cards you find in bookstores and stationary stores. I love greeting cards. I think they are the best way to let people know how you feel and what you are thinking. Greeting cards are so personal. You can keep them in your memory box or shoebox for years to come. Can you do that with an e-card? I bet you can’t even find those e-cards from years ago. Continue reading For the Love of Greeting Cards

A new coffee shop called Philz Coffee opened here in Los Gatos. It was an instant over night success. I hadn’t heard of it myself but apparently a lot of people already knew about this coffee chain from their other locations in the Bay Area. What’s so special about Philz Coffee? This is not your run of the mill coffee joint, no; this is a specialty coffee shop that doesn’t sell any espresso drinks, none. No lattes, cappuccinos, no latte macchiato, café Americano, no espresso drinks of any kind. Continue reading Philz Coffee
