When we met our friends William and his wife Stella for dinner one day, William who works at Google offered to give us a tour of the Google campus. Of course we were interested! So we arranged a date and the twins and I got to visit and tour Googleplex – Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Gamble Garden Spring Tour 2016
Every year the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, a historic home and garden in Palo Alto, California hosts a Spring Garden Tour where a few private homes in this exclusive neighborhood open their gardens for public viewing. Aah celebrating birthdays. These days it seems each kid wants to do something unique and with so many kids it can be hard to do something totally original. That is the dilemma the twins were facing, what to do for their 14th birthday. Around this time is when I got a very timely newsletter from Filoli Gardens announcing their Daffodil Daydreams! A totally unique experience with hundreds and hundreds of daffodils in full bloom, what an awesome idea for a birthday event!

Philz Coffee
A new coffee shop called Philz Coffee opened here in Los Gatos. It was an instant over night success. I hadn’t heard of it myself but apparently a lot of people already knew about this coffee chain from their other locations in the Bay Area. What’s so special about Philz Coffee? This is not your run of the mill coffee joint, no; this is a specialty coffee shop that doesn’t sell any espresso drinks, none.
