A Rose bouquet for one night 🌹. Roses Costes on 239 Rue Saint-Honoré. Paris, France

My daughter Sri and I discovered the most charming florist during our recent visit to Paris this summer.

We would walk past this florist every evening on our way to dinner. The tiny florist was breathtakingly beautiful. All they carried were roses. Roses in glorious rich colors.

Since we always seemed to walk past the florist late at night on our way to dinner, the shop was always closed. But that didn’t stop me from taking these sensational photos.

Situated on Rue Saint-Honoré in the luxury shopping district of Paris, this rose florist is called Roses Costes and is part of the Costes hotel.

On the last day of our trip we went shopping in this neighborhood in the daytime and walked past Roses Costes once again but this time the shop was open! I just caught my breath. Sri immediately said “Mom, lets go in.”

As I stood debating on if we should step into this gorgeous Parisian florist shop Sri says to me …

“I’ve seen you walk past this boutique every evening and look inside, it’s open now.  Let’s go in and buy a few roses.”

My reaction was

“What? But we are leaving tomorrow Sri, what are we going to do with the roses?”

Her response…

“Mom, we will enjoy the roses for one night.”

All I could think was

“When will I again get a chance to buy roses with my daughter in Paris?”

And we both stepped into this dreamy florist shop and had a rose experience to remember 🌹.

As I was admiring all the glamorous roses I asked the proprietor where the roses came from. He said the roses are shipped every morning from a rose farm outside of Paris that is owned by the same family for over 80 years.

Picking the perfect rose for our last night in Paris 🌹.

I recognized this pink peony like rose called Yves Piaget. I’ve tried growing this rose for years with no success. The shopkeeper seemed surprised that I knew the name and it brought a smile to his face.

As he was making our modest bouquet of three stems he added an Yves Piaget bloom to the bunch telling Sri   “This one is for your Maman.”

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet
from William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet.

  1. La floristería me comentan en el Hotel Roses que ha cerrado. Donde puedo contactar para comprar los jarrones y velas que vendían en DANI ROSES?

    1. Thank you! This rose florist was really a magical find. The roses were just gorgeous, the colors were so intense and the roses themselves so perfect, they looked fake 😀. We definitely had a hard time choosing just 3 stems!

  2. Sri and You (Kalpana) is a great daughter/mother combination who resembles Shashikala (Shashi, for short) and Devi daughter/mother combination. I hope and pray that these pairs remain forever here on earth (and in heaven together). May God bless you all.

  3. Absolutely fabulous photos! Those roses are such perfection, it would almost impossible to select just one.

  4. Hi Kalpana, I’m so happy you and Sri “stopped to smell the roses” What a treasured memory ❤️🌹😍
