Blossom Trail is an area in Fresno County’s farm land where thousands of stone fruit trees such as peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots are grown in addition to almond and walnut trees. I’ve wanted to check out Blossom Trail for over two years now. I finally made it out there this past President’s day weekend with the family!

I love farmer’s market veggies, so naturally when I received this message from my friend Rita last week “Hi, I have some extra spinach, dill, chard, turnips, arugula and Tuscan kale from my farmer’s market friend. Would you ladies want some?” “Delivery included 😉. Which would you like, some of each? How could my answer for farm fresh veggies delivered to our door be anything but a resounding, “YES, PLEASE. Thank you so much!” My friend Rose requested a combo of spinach, chard, arugula and kale. I asked for all of it! Rita’s response was “Ok I’ll drop them off at both your porches tomorrow afternoon. You’re welcome!” Continue reading Farm Fresh Veggies Delivered to Our Door

When you combine this style of architecture with the almost all year California sunshine, blue Pacific Ocean, and the rolling hills and mountains that abound here, sometimes one can forget this is America, but rather it can feel like we are in Spain or in the Mediterranean somewhere.

It’s citrus season here. What that means is hundreds and hundreds of lemons for the picking. At this time last year my friend Elaine gave me over 200 lemons and I made bottles and bottles of lemonade syrup that lasted for month and months. The kids and I had delicious lemonade whenever we wanted without any squeezing and stirring sugar and lemon juice. All we did was pour our lemonade syrup in a glass then add water or sparkling mineral water and voila! We had sweet lemonade in an instant. Continue reading It’s Pouring Lemons
