Vegetarian Thanksgiving Dinner 2017

It’s Thanksgiving day after tomorrow and our family is in a mad rush to get all our ingredients for our dinner. This year is special because we haven’t been home for Thanksgiving in a while. Last year we celebrated Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara and had an amazing holiday there. The year before we celebrated Thanksgiving in Sonoma Wine Country where we had an outstanding time in this beautiful part of California. This year we decided to stay in town and celebrate this uniquely American holiday at home. Last weekend we celebrated the Indian festival of Diwali with a big party for our family and close friends. On the agenda for the evening was fun, friends, family, food, and sparklers. Celebrating the Indian Harvest Festival of Shankranthi. A harvest inspired vegetarian feast.

After days and weeks of solid good rain here in Northern California, we finally see some sunshine 😊🌞.  It seriously feels like spring – Not! Birds are chirping as if it is spring, little do they know that rain and cool temperatures are coming back very soon – within a few days 🌧.

I was invited to a holiday tea back in December at my dear friend Radhika’s place and what a fun time we had. Radhika’s home was beautifully decked for the holidays and so warm and welcoming that I just didn’t want to leave on this cool winter afternoon.
