I was sitting enjoying a salad and a sandwich up in my veggie patch on a hot sweltering summer morning last week when I saw her appear with this beautiful cold drink.

Blueberry Smash Kambucha
Oh its hot outside! This week started off on a warmer note with temps in the 90s! I can’t drink enough water and don’t really feel like doing anything except just lazing around. On a lazy week like this one I asked one of my twins if she would replicate her mocktail she made last Sunday for Father’s Day. It’s a refreshing drink with lots of berries, sweetened with honey 😃🐝🍯, tangy and fizzy from the fermented kambucha. Continue reading Blueberry Smash Kambucha

Oat milk is all the rage right now as an alternative to dairy milk, in fact it is so popular around here that many times when I try to pick it up at the grocery stores they are out of stock. The first time I had oat milk was at a coffee shop in Healdsburg, California couple of years ago when we were on a Thanksgiving holiday in Sonoma Wine Country. They were promoting oat milk and were offering a little discount if you gave it a try – and I did! Imagine my surprise when the latte was as creamy as a regular milk latte and just as delicious. I was sold! Continue reading Homemade Oat Milk

I love sweet fizzy sodas. It’s one of those things that I know isn’t good for me but I do love that fizzy sweet taste. I am trying very hard to stay away from soda as we all know its loaded with too much sugar, this is one of those recipes I came up with when I was craving soda and wanted something on the healthier side. I figured sparkling mineral water couldn’t be bad for me – right? And if I add ginger and honey I should get a healthier version of soda? That’s how I came up with this homemade ginger honey soda.

A cocktail with the dreamy fragrance and color of roses? All made with roses from the garden? This is one gorgeous cocktail that looks as beautiful as it tastes. I found this rose infused cocktail recipe in one of last year’s Sunset Magazine’s western edition but couldn’t make the cocktail then as by the time I read the recipe my roses were winding down for the season, however I did save it to make this year when my roses are in full bloom again.
