Hello! Happy Monday after Thanksgiving! I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving celebration. It’s the start of December and time to get into the holiday spirit 🎄😃. I do love this time of year, holiday joy can be seen everywhere ❤️.

Quick trip to Mombasa, Kenya

I know I’ve been missing on my blog for a few weeks. I’ve been prepping for my trip to Kenya to visit Hitesh’s family . We visited them for about 10 days in November. Then came home and celebrated Thanksgiving with the kids, followed by coming down with a mild cold. It’s been a crazy month!

Mombasa was hot and humid!

Mombasa was hot and humid y’all! We are talking temperatures in high 80s with humidity in the 90% plus bouts of rain ⛈.

It was wonderful to spend time with the family and relax in Mombasa before heading back to busy holiday buzz back home.

Our Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving this year was more low key than usual but when everyone is cooking together it feels warm and festive.

Making homemade pasta 🍝

We built our menu around homemade pasta – that was the star of the evening – making pasta from scratch! And believe me it takes a lot of work to make pasta at home – here all four family members had to get involved to make it LOL. Lots of muscle required to knead and roll out the dough.

Mindful Thanksgiving Menu

This year we created a more mindful Thanksgiving menu. Our menu was more thought out so as not to have too many dishes. This way we could really appreciate each dish and the effort that went into making them.
