It’s looking like fall around here; temperatures are cooler, leaves are falling, and it’s getting darker earlier in the evenings. This type of weather always gets me in a contemplative mood. It’s times like these when allthough I want to socialize and meet friends, I really want to keep it low-key – you know what I mean? This is the mood I was in when I had a friend over for a simple fall lunch one Friday afternoon recently. Not two friends, not three, but just one. It’s nice once in a while to have a quiet lunch with a friend, it gives us a chance to catch up one/one with each other and relax over comfort food and conversation. The scene was set for a beautiful day in the vineyards. Gorgeous weather with temperatures in the pleasant 70s, sunny with a gentle breeze, a winery with great wine, and friends who were all free to go together for a picnic in the vineyard. This was my perfect afternoon at Clos LaChance Winery in Morgan Hill in the South Bay. Continue reading Picnic in the Vineyard at Clos LaChance Winery in Morgan Hill, California
I hope your week started off great!
How was your weekend and Father’s Day? I hope you got to celebrate and appreciate all the Dad’s in your family. We had a wonderful Father’s Day, at least that’s what Hitesh (Father to my three girls) conveyed to me at the end of the day on Sunday. Hitesh got to do his chillin and relaxing during the day. I made a veggie omelette for him for brunch with savory scones and fresh fruit. After that we planted some veggie seedlings that I picked up from my friend Veena. Then he and the twins went to downtown Los Gatos to take a stroll while I stayed home to get dinner ready for our Father’s Day dinner gathering with my cousins and their families. Wishing you a great week ahead.
Today I would love to share a few pictures from a wonderful dinner we had over the weekend with our good friends and old neighbors Carl and Tracy. Tracy and Carl are our old neighbors whom we’ve known for over 20 years ever since both our families moved into our new homes two decades ago in the South San Jose neighborhood of Almaden Valley. Anyone who tells you how fun it is to have twins, let me tell you speaking from one who has twins, it’s not as fun as it seems. And I should know, I have twins and an older child, and now that my older one is and adult and the twins are teens, I can honestly say that it was easier to deal with a single child than with twin teens. They can’t agree on anything – and I mean anything! They bicker non-stop. They have their own set of friends with no overlap whatsoever. They have two unique interests and hobbies. They hate that they share a birthday – I mean seriously? I tell them “You are twins! Hello! That’s what twins means, you share a birthday?” Continue reading Twins Celebrating 17 Birthday Menu
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day yesterday 💕❤️! Ours was spent at home with the twins. My eldest was at her company’s sales conference in Half Moon Bay so it was just the four of us. It was a rainy, stormy V Day here in the Bay Area. I was so happy to be at home and not going out for dinner. Instead we made a special Asian inspired dinner. Continue reading Asian Inspired Valentine’s Vegetarian Menu. 2019
Tangy and delicious, thick and creamy, quick and easy, this tomato soup takes just minutes to cook. I made this tomato bisque for a lunch with two of my dear friends last week and since we were getting together for a little Valentine’s Day celebration I wanted to make a soup that was red in color and tomato soup is what we all think of for a red soup.
