Dinner with Good Friends Tracy and Carl

Happy Tuesday!
Wishing you a great week ahead.

Today I would love to share a few pictures from a wonderful dinner we had over the weekend with our good friends and old neighbors Carl and Tracy.  Tracy and Carl are our old neighbors whom we’ve known for over 20 years ever since both our families moved into our new homes two decades ago in the South San Jose neighborhood of Almaden Valley. Twins Celebrating 17 Birthday Menu

Anyone who tells you how fun it is to have twins, let me tell you speaking from one who has twins, it’s not as fun as it seems. And I should know, I have twins and an older child, and now that my older one is and adult and the twins are teens, I can honestly say that it was easier to deal with a single child than with twin teens.  They can’t agree on anything – and I mean anything! They bicker non-stop. They have their own set of friends with no overlap whatsoever. They have two unique interests and hobbies. They hate that they share a birthday – I mean seriously? I tell them “You are twins! Hello! That’s what twins means, you share a birthday?” Continue reading Twins Celebrating 17 Birthday Menu

Asian Inspired Valentine’s Vegetarian Menu. 2019

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day yesterday 💕❤️!  Ours was spent at home with the twins. My eldest was at her company’s sales conference in Half Moon Bay so it was just the four of us.  It was a rainy, stormy V Day here in the Bay Area. I was so happy to be at home and not going out for dinner.  Instead we made a special Asian inspired dinner.  Continue reading Asian Inspired Valentine’s Vegetarian Menu. 2019

Oven Baked Tomato Bisque for a Valentine’s Day Lunch with Dear Friends

Tangy and delicious, thick and creamy, quick and easy, this tomato soup takes just minutes to cook. I made this tomato bisque for a lunch with two of my dear friends last week and since we were getting together for a little Valentine’s Day celebration I wanted to make a soup that was red in color and tomato soup is what we all think of for a red soup. Holiday Tea with Two Friends. 2018

I don’t know what it is about the holidays that makes me feel the urge to somehow cram seeing all my friends before the year is up, despite seeing them often and throughout the year. Maybe it’s that I want to share the festive season and all the joy that comes with it, or maybe it’s that meeting up over the holidays has a certain charm that is hard to capture at other times of the year.  Whatever the reason maybe, so here I was squeezing a quick tea with my friend Padmini before she left for Dallas to be with her family over the Christmas holidays. And since tea is always more fun with one more friend to share it with, I invited my friend Veena to join us. Continue reading Holiday Tea with Two Friends. 2018

Holiday Tea at Devi’s 2018

Earlier this week I stopped by my friend Devi’s home for a holiday tea to cheer her up and to get her mind off the pain she is still in from her knee-replacement surgery a few weeks ago.  My Dad and our mutual friend Rose joined me on this afternoon.  Rose and I were determined to get Devi into the holiday spirit and distract her from her discomfort even if it was just for a couple of hours. From the looks of it we accomplished our objective, as Devi seemed to be enjoying herself on this afternoon 😊😀. Continue reading Holiday Tea at Devi’s 2018

Vegetarian Thanksgiving Dinner 2018

Hello folks, hope you had an awesome THANKSGIVING! 🍁🦃  Our holiday was relaxing and fun spent cooking with family and watching some feel-good Christmas movies. I didn’t get a chance to share our Thanksgiving menu with you earlier because to be honest we were rather behind in deciding on our menu. So behind in fact that we went grocery shopping Wednesday night and onThanksgiving Day!  Lucky for us our local grocery store still had stocked shelves of produce 🍎🌶🍅.
